Vancouver, WA - Fashions. Org is a community themed professional networking site for professionals and business in the fashion industry. The organization promotes sustainability in the apparel industry through local job growth. The founders and principals of the organization believe there is significant opportunity for growth in the local apparel industry. A growing number of consumers today are looking for goods that are manufactured and sold locally in their communities. But, many consumers still are not aware that within the United States and many western countries, there is a vibrant cottage apparel industry.

Fashions. Org launched its website in January 2008 with a three phase plan. During the first phase, the site has focused on building a professional networking community for professionals and businesses to both promote themselves and locate other professionals and businesses. The site
provides an International Fashion Registry for professional business listings, a fashion classified ad/job section, a quick find seamstress directory for locating local seamstresses who can do small commercial runs, a calendar of fashion shows around the world, private hosting of resumes and tear sheets, and tools/gadgets to aid in managing their web sites and social pages.

Fashions. Org is currently transistioning into its second phase, where the site will focus on introducing the fashion public to the site. Currently, the site overs a showcase section where professionals and showcase a portfolio and obtain a rating feedback from the public. The site will be launching a variety of fashion news and information. Content will be a mix of professionally edited articles (eFashion) and on-the-street fashion news and articles by the visiting public (iFashion).

During the third phase, projected for late fall, the site will launch online stores for local apparel manufacturers and fashion designers. These stores will allow the fashion public to find and purchase clothing apparel and fashion related products which are manufactured and sold in their community, either online or at local boutiques.

Our goal is to convince the consumer to spend 5% or more of their clothing purchases on locally manufactured and distributed clothing apparel.
